As a military spouse, finding a portable career that you love and that can earn you real money (I’m talking money that could actually support a family or pay off debt or send your kids to college) is like finding a gold mine. Finding one that pays you well residually (as in, paychecks you earn long after you’ve done the work) just sounds crazy.
But I did it! I found a “job” (if you will) that fits all of those criteria and so much more. Since then I’ve been able to pay off my student loans, travel around the world, fly my mom to San Diego for her birthday, cover extra bills and fun purchases for our family, and so much more with the money I’ve earned from this opportunity. I actually kind of stumbled on it, almost accidentally. Let me explain…
Last year a good friend of mine and a fellow military spouse told me about some nutrition she used that helped her stop feeling so sluggish and gain her natural energy back. My husband and I were total zombies at the time so we decided to give it a shot. Our results shocked us (you can read about it here!) and we fell head-over-heels in love with the nutrition.
When I say we fell in love with it, I mean it! We couldn’t shut up about it! I hadn’t looked or felt that great since I was in middle school. We were so shocked and so excited that we started telling everyone about how great we felt (I even posted about it on Instagram and Facebook… I thought the whole world needed to know about this!!).
Within our first week & a half of trying this nutrition we had tons of people asking us about it and 5 or 6 friends who were ready to give it a shot themselves. We referred our friends (we just helped them set up their own online account, similar to an Amazon account, where they could buy the stuff at wholesale prices whenever they want) and, because of the generous referral bonuses the company offers, we earned over $1400 within those first 12 days.
At the time, $1400 in less than 2 weeks seemed CRAZY to us! We thought we were rich!!! The nutrition was already saving us money on groceries (it replaces a lot of our food budget) and to have an extra $1400 in our hands just for sharing it with friends completely blew our minds!
While the money was great, what we were able to do with it was even better.
Mother’s Day was just a few short weeks after we acquired that money and it was going to be the first Mother’s Day in YEARS that I wasn’t home to make “mom” shaped pancakes for my mom. She was heartbroken knowing that we wouldn’t be there but she knew we didn’t have the funds to fly home.
However, because of those generous referral bonuses, we were able to buy some last-minute plane tickets to Houston, where our families are, and fly home the day before the holiday. It still brings tears to my eyes when I think about how we surprised our moms on Mother’s Day. There was a LOT of screaming and crying and they just couldn’t believe that we were home!
That’s when I knew that we had to keep sharing.
Not only were we and so many others looking and feeling amazing from the nutrition, but the extra stream of income we were generating was changing lives. When we saw the impact we were able to make because of that $1400 we knew that we would be selling ourselves short if we didn’t keep sharing.
All of sudden, life seemed so much bigger than ourselves.
We started to dream about the families we could help feed at Thanksgiving, the homeless people we could provide meals for, the mission trips we could go on, the wounded warriors we could assist… We knew that the more we could earn, the bigger the impact we could make on the world.
So we kept sharing.
And sharing, and sharing, and teaching our friends how to share as well. We now have an entire team of life-changers who are passionate about becoming the best versions of themselves and who work in the pockets of their time, just like us, to find financial freedom and make a difference in the world.
We’ve moved twice since then (thank you military!), which has prevented me from finishing my degree, but the crazy thing is that I haven’t had to go back to “work” yet. Instead, I’ve been able to continue to share this from the comfort of my home, my favorite coffee shops, restaurants, the beach, and even from the other side of the world!
Working from wherever I want has given me so much freedom in my life, but more importantly it’s allowed me to truly understand the power of giving, which has filled my cup to the brim. I am so thankful my friend took the time to introduce me to this opportunity, and I’m more than happy to do the same for any of you.
