It’s that time of year again! Halloween is almost here, so my husband and I decided to celebrate by supporting our troops with a Marine Corps themed jack-o-lantern.
This template can be pretty tricky when you’re only using kitchen knifes and a pair of scissors, so if you’re going to attempt this I strongly suggest spending the $4 it takes to buy a pumpkin-carving kit if you don’t already have one (so maybe yours won’t turn out as sloppy as ours did!).
I drew this Eagle, Globe, and Anchor by hand, so please respect my work and only use it for personal reasons. Thank you in advance :)
The ‘USMC’ part at the bottom wouldn’t fit on the pumpkin we picked out, so we decided to just leave that part off. It took a bit of folding to get the stencil to fit on our pumpkin, so you might have to play with it a bit when taping it on.
Once it was situated, we went to work. Turned out pretty good for using scissors and steak knifes, don’t you think? (Again, you should definitely take the time to BUY A PUMPKIN CARVING KIT! We will definitely be buying one next year!)
It looks even cooler in the dark, if you ask me.
